Important update on the club committee

Stonehouse Lawn Tennis Club
24 June 2016

Dear Members –

I thought you might appreciate a quick update on various matters relating to the club’s development.
The New Clubhouse: Despite the rejection of our Sport England bid, your committee is meeting during the summer to seek expert advice and re-focus our applications for funding. We remain confident that the plans for our new clubhouse remain achievable within the next few years.
Our Toilets: We expect to have signed the lease with PCC by the end of July and will then be able to start work on the access path along the north side of ‘our’ part of the building. Re-decoration and refurbishment work inside has already started. There will soon be one women’s toilet, two unisex toilets and a large area for club storage. Toilet access will be free and key-pad coded with the code made available to club members.
Club Secretary: Due to the unexpected resignations from the committee of both Janet Vosper and Marilyn Lean, we are now looking for a club member to take over the role of Club Secretary. A description of what this newly-refined role will involve appears below. The full list of current committee members is:-
Chairman             Tom Keene
Vice Chairman      Andy Bell
Treasurer              Fauzi Mantoura
Andrew Jeffery
Hilarie Medler
Maggie Cheal
Jayne Ashenbury
Roy Rounsfull

CLUB SECRETARY
To be a full voting member of the club committee.
To be the club’s custodian of record and the holder of all formal club documentation.  To arrange club meetings and notify club and committee members accordingly. To take and distribute club Minutes.  To provide the formal correspondence address for the club and to respond to all club correspondence and communications. To ensure that club insurances, indemnities and legal notices are kept up to date and that Invoices are passed to the Treasurer for payment. To forward enquiries to the appropriate committee member for response or action; to keep a record of club activity embracing the wider Stonehouse community and to liaise with PCC on an annual basis to ensure the Council has no reason to revoke our rent-free toilet block agreement regarding community access.

If the post might interest you, please contact Tom Keene, Chairman, 01752 -265673.

Best wishes

Tom
